Best Of: Clash of the Champions IV

Blake Knox Blake's Best Of

In this installment of Blake’s Best Of, we discuss Clash of the Champions IV: Season’s Beatings.

This wasn’t exactly one of the best Clash shows that WCW put on, but there were a few excellent performances among the lackluster stuff.

Let’s dive into the best of Clash of the Champions IV.

The US Tag Team Tournament finals

The Fantastics were a team that everyone loved, but they embraced their heel side throughout this one against the duo of Ron Simmons and Eddie Gilbert. This match told a great story. Gilbert got his arm worked on throughout this one, and when he had a chance to make the hot tag to Simmons, he didn’t. The crowd was hot and the atmosphere added even more to an entertaining title match between two teams with great chemistry.

Ric Flair and Barry Windham against the Midnight Express

Flair and Windham against the Midnight Express? It was impossible for the match to not hit four stars. As you would expect, these two teams put on a show. It was all action from start to finish, with Flair using his trademark heel tactics to get the win. Just like with the US Tag Team Tournament title match, the crowd was just nuts for these two teams. This was the best match on the show and one of the best matches of the year for the company.
